In 1998, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis collaborated with Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA), one of the world’s leading life reinsurers, to create the Longer Life Foundation. This unique foundation supports innovative independent research by scientific, medical and public health experts to make discoveries that will improve long-term mortality, enhance longevity, and promote healthier lives.

Our Board of Governors

The Longer Life Foundation is led by a Board of Governors whose members represent both Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and RGA.

Our Team

The Longer Life Foundation’s administrative team represents the experience and expertise of Washington University School of Medicine, an internationally recognized academic medical institution, as well as the breadth and depth of underwriting and risk knowledge at RGA, one of the world’s leading life reinsurance companies.

The Longer Life Center (LLC) was established in 2000 to provide on-campus leadership and administrative support for the research and scholarly activities related to the mission of the Longer Life Foundation.
